*cheers* Oh my gosh, this is so totally beautiful... @_@ I love moths anyway and I'm somewhat familiar with the Saturnidae family, but I have to say I've never seen one of these before and can hardly believe how gorgeous it is! I think it might be the most beautiful species I've ever seen... the wings truly do look like stained glass windows! :heart: I guess this individual is a male?

It's a very scarce moth.
You're right, it's sometimes called "Papillon-vitrail", that means "stained-glass moth" :-)

Pour cette espèce et toutes les espèces apparentées (Saturniidae en général et Actias sp., sous-famille, en particulier) : les femelles sont plus grandes et ont des ailes plus arrondies, les "queues" de leurs ailes postérieures sont beaucoup plus courtes et les antennes beaucoup plus fines. On peut même déterminer le sexe du papillon lorsqu'il est encore à l'état de chrysalide.
